About the Role

The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations on construction projects, including planning, coordination, and supervision of on-site activities. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and specifications.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and direct all field personnel, including Foremen, Carpenters, Laborers, Concrete Finishers, and subcontractors

  • Coordinate daily activities of all trades on site

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and performance oversight for field teams


Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan, organize, and manage day-to-day field operations

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including short-interval (look-ahead) schedules

  • Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to meet project timelines

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, clients, and stakeholders to align on project goals, budget, and schedule

  • Manage subcontractors, including coordination, performance, and conflict resolution

  • Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to meet deadlines

  • Maintain daily reports and job logs documenting site activities, progress, and issues

  • Track and report labor hours for payroll purposes

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to plans and specifications

  • Coordinate material deliveries and equipment with vendors and suppliers

  • Implement efficient and cost-effective construction practices


Major Responsibilities:


Project Management:


  • Develop and execute project work plans and schedules

  • Establish manpower requirements and manage labor productivity

  • Control job progress through effective coordination, documentation, and problem-solving

  • Monitor and manage project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment

  • Ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications

  • Direct and manage self-performed work by MSI crews


People Management:


  • Foster a positive, safety-focused job site culture

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate field personnel and subcontractors

  • Communicate expectations clearly and hold teams accountable

  • Promote teamwork, professionalism, and strong work ethic

  • Ensure all personnel understand and follow safety requirements


Business Development & Client Relations:


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and inspectors

  • Represent the company professionally at all times

  • Promote a positive company image through leadership, communication, and job site appearance

  • Support client satisfaction by delivering high-quality projects and responsive service


Qualifications & Skills:


  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and field operations

  • Proven ability to manage schedules, manpower, and subcontractors

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment


Additional Responsibilities:


  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and accountability on all projects

  • Support company goals related to safety, quality, and profitability

  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 15+ years or more experience in a field supervision role

  • 9+ completed projects, run independently

  • Experience managing both large and small projects ranging from $50,000 to $20+ million

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Great problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking
