One of the biggest indicators to project success is the implementation and reliability of comprehensive safety planning from day one.
Safety is everyone’s priority. MSI houses dedicated full-time safety professionals with established and effective practices incorporating both leading and lagging indicators to improve safety on jobsites. Through research, analyses and daily practice, MSI’s safety initiatives protect people and projects, positively impacting client return on investment, while eliminating risk; leaving everyone to enjoy the process and the progress.
Safety is integrated into MSI’s organizational structure at every level from presidential engagement to field and administration training. Leadership and full-time safety personnel that support safety initiatives are beneficial to the company, however, it is the people out in the field fully embracing the initiatives and procedures that allow MSI to remain successful. A day on a MSI jobsite begins, progresses, and ends with safety protocols. Project personnel begin their day with safety meetings, equipment and gear checks, an update plan review, and a discussion of any questions and concerns.
A known in the AEC industry is that projects carry uncertainties. With MSI, safety is not one of them. Our partnership with OSHA holds us accountable to have the highest level of safety possible on every jobsite. Our practices set the standard for safe project delivery because our company exercises a strict safety culture.
EXCELLENCE IN SAFETY
MSI Construction Inc. is committed to construction safety in Indiana, providing the safest possible working environment because of compliance to the highest standards of the construction industry benefits employees, management, subcontractors and owners alike. Our safety program consists of several facets to ensure that all company and site employees are active participants in a functional and successful safety culture that goes above and beyond Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) standards. Further evidence of the effectiveness of MSI’s safety program can be found in our Workers Compensation Experience Modification Rating (EMR) which compares a company’s loss experience to the average for its industry.
“Our safety culture isn’t about checking items on a list. It’s about making sure every single person with any ties whatsoever to a project site returns to their families the same way they arrived that morning.”
– John Michael F. Major,
Corporate Safety Director
TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS
MSI Construction's safety personnel are rarely found in the office, as they travel the state regularly visiting jobsites, ensuring construction activities are being performed in compliance, and educating our Superintendents and their craftsmen on changes in regulation or practice. They also ensure our field teams are receiving the necessary (and often required) training that is relevant to their assigned jobsite, and to the industry as a whole. Our Superintendents are also equipped with the latest software and technology, including iPads, allowing for real time communication and daily progress report sharing with clients and with the office.
We have been a member of CCS since 2013.
