About the Role

The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager and construction team in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing project documentation, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring projects are completed in accordance with specifications, schedule, budget, and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and work plans

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure design integrity and compliance

  • Prepare, review, and manage technical documentation including drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and reports

  • Maintain accurate and organized project records and documentation

  • Coordinate subcontractor activities and material deliveries to support project schedules

  • Monitor project progress and assist in identifying and resolving technical and field issues

  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements

  • Assist in preparing project updates, reports, and presentations for clients and stakeholders

  • Support communication between the Project Manager, field teams, clients, and regulatory agencies


Project Support Responsibilities:

(Performed under the direction of the Project Manager)

  • Support project planning, scheduling, and execution

  • Assist with estimating, value engineering, and budget development

  • Facilitate subcontractor bidding, including distribution, tracking, and leveling of bid documents

  • Assist with subcontractor and material buyout, including preparation and negotiation of subcontracts

  • Utilize project management software to track, distribute, and manage documentation

  • Coordinate subcontractors and assist with resolving field conflicts

  • Monitor project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment, and assist with forecasting and cost analysis

  • Support change order management and documentation

  • Assist with project closeout, including final documentation and turnover

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and documentation

  • Proficiency in construction management and document control software

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Promote a high level of customer satisfaction by supporting project teams and client needs

  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, codes, and regulations

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project and organizational success

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • 2-5 years of experience in construction project engineering or a related role.

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and building codes.

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
