About the Role

The Project Engineer Intern supports the project management and field teams in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. Responsibilities will vary based on project scope and schedule but will focus on documentation control, tracking systems, and field support to ensure successful project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist with general project documentation control and organization

  • Track materials and maintain logs for key items such as concrete, aggregate, rebar, cable, piles, modules, and other long-lead materials

  • Support progress and quantity tracking through logs and reporting tools

  • Attend daily Plan of the Day (POD) meetings; record meeting notes and assist with distribution to project personnel

  • Update and distribute weekly progress tracking maps

  • Maintain Daily Status Tracker, documenting installed quantities and supporting schedule updates

  • Provide quantity updates to the project scheduler to assist with 3-week look-ahead and master schedule updates

  • Enter and track weekly production quantities in project management software (e.g., Viewpoint)

  • Ensure field teams have the latest issued-for-construction (IFC) drawings and documents

  • Assist with submittal and transmittal processes, including tracking, distribution, and follow-up with engineering teams and clients

  • Prepare and track Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring timely responses and accurate log updates

  • Conduct and document SWPPP and SPCC inspections, reporting non-compliance issues to site leadership

  • Prepare agendas and meeting minutes for weekly and monthly coordination meetings

  • Track and document weather delays, including wind and weather day notifications

  • Capture and upload project progress photos to document control systems

  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support successful project execution


Qualifications & Skills:


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic technical writing ability

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field

Strong communication and organizational skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks

Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative

Comfortable working in a field environment

Requirements


  • Pursuing Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar Engineering field preferred
