About the Role

The Concrete Finisher is responsible for preparing, placing, and finishing concrete to ensure high-quality, durable surfaces. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and align forms for slabs, sidewalks, curbs, and walls

  • Build, assemble, and dismantle concrete forms

  • Grade and prepare subgrade to proper elevations and specifications

  • Pour, rake, and place concrete to required grade and finish

  • Spread, level, and smooth concrete surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques

  • Tool expansion joints and finish edges to specified standards

  • Apply decorative finishes, including stains, colors, and embedded materials such as stone

  • Install reinforcing materials including wire mesh and rebar

  • Apply sealants and waterproofing to protect finished concrete surfaces

  • Operate equipment such as skid loaders and utilize tools including laser levels for accuracy

  • Ensure all work meets project specifications and quality standards

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of industry tools, equipment, and finishing techniques

  • Knowledge of modern concrete practices, materials, and technology

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality finishes

  • Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

  • Reliable, task-oriented, and committed to meeting project deadlines

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to read and follow job specifications and construction plans

Certifications (Preferred):

  • OSHA 10 Certification

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more unassisted

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and squatting

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and night shifts

  • Ability to work in varying weather and job site conditions

Additional Duties:

  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support project and organizational needs

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in commercial & Industrial Concrete construction, preferred

  • Proficient in the use of industry tools and equipment

  • Up to date with the latest technology involving concrete work

  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, with an ability to multi-task

  • Task-oriented, reliable, and committed to meeting deadlines

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Flexible availability, including some overtime, weekends, and night shifts

  • OSHA 10, preferred

  • Operator's certificate, preferred

  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds, unassisted, and stand for extended periods

  • Ability to adhere to job specifications and make top-class finishes in concrete work
